19 Weeks (December 1st - 7th)

I weigh about 10.5 oz and measure 6.5 inches CRL. My skin is covered in waxy soft vernix!

It’s a GIRL!

We found out we're having a girl through the gender ultrasound during 17 weeks and told our families over Thanksgiving. However, I waited to post it until the doctor’s ultrasound confirmed it this week! She will be named Lydia Noelle Spencer.

We had a prenatal doctor's appointment this week, which included my 1 hour glucose test for gestational diabetes and the big anatomy ultrasound. It was pretty much the perfect appointment. The lab got my blood on the first try (YAY!), we got to see our baby on the ultrasound, and they confirmed that she is a girl. The baby is measuring at 9 ounces and her heart rate was 135 bpm. My blood pressure was perfect and my weight hasn't changed since my last appointment. During the ultrasound, the tech said that she would like me to be farther along to get all of the correct organ measurements. We got several pictures and a DVD of the ultrasound, plus we get to come back for another one in two weeks to verify the organ measurements. Even though the first glucose test is usually done father along in pregnancy, my doctor wanted me to do mine early at this appointment because I am at high risk for gestational diabetes (since I was insulin resistant prior to pregnancy). Anyway, I PASSED THE GLUCOSE TEST!

We had some visitors this week. Tony's aunts came down to visit over the weekend. We went to Birmingham to look at baby stuff at Burlington Coat Factory and Babies 'R' Us. As a baby shower present, they got us the Eddie Bauer Stonewood collection stroller/car seat travel system and the play yard/bassinet so we don't have to haul it back from Michigan after the acutal shower. We absolutely love the items and put them together as soon as we got home. Thank You Karen & Judy!!!

For Black Friday shopping, Wal-Mart had a toy choo choo train that I wanted to get for our baby priced at only $9.00. I figured it was silly to go out with the rest of the world just for one toy, but I did mention that I wanted it to a few people at work. Well my friend Lee went to Wal-Mart to get presents for her kids and got the train for me! Thanks Lee, you’re the best!!!
